Hackathon + Games = GameJam
The purpose of RGU GameJam is to present an opportunity for students to develop a computer or board game within 30 hours based on a given theme. The GameJam is not just a competition, but an event oriented towards having fun, networking, and experiencing mentorship from academic staff and industry members.

Guidance for Participants
- Location and Date: The Sir Ian Wood Building (front atrium )at Robert Gordon University on Saturday October 18th until Sunday 19th of October.
- Cost: The cost of taking part in the GameJam is £5 per participant.
- Event Length: The opening ceremony will start at 9am on Saturday 18th October. The GameJam will finish at 5.30 pm on Sunday! The event will end following the awards ceremony at 5:00.
- Team Size: Formation of teams is encouraged! Note the maximum team size is 5 participants.
- Registration: Registration is available at the above link. Note that teams must register in advance. The closing date of registrations is Thursday 16th October at 16:00.
- Eligibility: This event caters to aspiring game developers, board game enthusiasts and experienced hackathon goers from any university or college. That said, this event is strictly limited to students. An identifier will be worn at all times.
- Staffing: Staff members from the School of Computing at RGU will be present at all times throughout the event.
- Equipment: Please bring your own equipment (including a laptop and any software you plan to use). A small amount of specialist equipment will be available to borrow, but will be shared between all participants. Note that ID will be required to borrow any equipment. Equipment that can be borrowed is: Ipads, VR sets, Laptops and Drawing tablets.
- Chill area: As a two day event, teams will be taking breaks over the course of the GameJam. This will involve going home to sleep. We will provide quiet rooms for rest, but these are strictly BYOP-B (Bring-Your-Own_Pillow-and-Blanket)!
